Ethan started his second cycle of chemotherapy last Friday. Though his reaction to the medications was more harsh this round, all-in-all, he's hanging in there! He was released from the hospital last Sunday and spent this past week at home with his mom, dad and baby sister (who just took her first four consecutive steps!).
Ethan's recent blood work has indicated traces of opportunistic infections. Evidence of these infections, combined with his neutropenic state (i.e., suppressed immune system), has led his doctors to believe that it's best for Ethan to be re-admitted to the hospital for observation and treatment. Ethan will be in the hospital for a minimum of two days. He's in good spirits as he continues to charm all of the nurses on the floor. We'll keep you up-to-date on his progress!
