Volunteer for Ride for Kids ® (RFK)!

Each year thousands of people support the medical community in its efforts to find a cure for childhood brain tumors by volunteering at the Ride for Kids® event (http://www.ride4kids.org) sponsored by the PBTFUS. RFK® events are held all around the country. The September 19th, 2004 Columbia, MD RFK® event was a huge success raising $200K!  To read more about this specific event, please visit this website (there's a great photo of Ethan there as well!): http://www.ride4kids.org/media/schedule/events/columbia_2003.html.   We are now preparing for the 2005 Ride, which will be held on September 25th, 2005 in Columbia, MD.

At the Columbia, MD RFK® Volunteers are needed to assist with the the registration tables, motorcycle parking, setting up, cleaning up, and a host of other activities.   Registration and Parking Volunteers are required to go through a short training session a few days before the ride. There will be two Regstration training sessions in 2004, one in MD and one in VA.  The VA training will be held at the Reston Regional Library in Reston VA from 7pm-9pm on Wednesday, September 15th.   The MD training will be held at Bob's BMW (http://www.bobsbmw.com) in Jessup MD from 7pm-9pm on Thursday, September 16th.

Thanks to all of the Team Ethan Volunteers who volunteered at the 2004 Columbia MD RFK® event!  We hope that you will consider volunteering again next year!   

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP

• Organize Fund Raising Activities.  Each and every one of Ethan's supporters has some unique talent or skill.  Hold a yard sale, organize a car wash, use eBay to auction off that old stuff that you have been meaning to get rid of for years, go door-to-door in your neighborhood, or solicit support from your company.  Use your imagination and inspire others to contribute to PBTFUS. Donations can be made directly to PBTFUS via this link Donations Page.  THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED WITH OUR TEAM ETHAN FUNDRAISERS...we raised nearly $7,000 at our 1st Annual Team Ethan "Lumpy Palooza" and raised over $4,000 at our 2nd Palooza! • Help us Raise Awareness for PBTFUS and Ride for Kids®.  In the nine years we have been participating in, and contributing to Ride for Kids®, we have NEVER seen any major media coverage of this event from the Washington/Baltimore newspapers, Television Stations, or Radio Stations.  Do you have any connections in the Media? If so, help us make them aware of this event. • Ride with Us on Ride for Kids®.  Do you or someone you know ride a motorcycle ? Join us for the September 2004 Ride and participate in this event first hand.   Don't have a motorcycle?  Not a problem...come in a car and watch or better yet, Volunteer as a member of the Ride for Kids® support crew!  The most moving part of the experience is the sight of all of the people, and all of the hard work that they have put in to raise money for Pediatric Brain Tumors.  Registration information is located on the Ride for Kids® Website.
  
  
• Donate Blood! Visit the Inova Blood Donor site for more information (http://www.inova.org/donateblood ) or call 1-866-BLOODSAVES (866-256-6372). Make a life-saving appointment today!
